Registered Dietitian

Connie Ziembicki has worked as a clinical dietitian, with patients in a hospital setting, and as a research dietitian studying nutrition for over 20 years. In addition to her certification as a Registered Dietitian, Connie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Science, and a Masters of Health Science degree from the University of Toronto. She joined Princess Margaret Hospital in 1998, and has been working at The Pencer Centre since August 2000.

Patients and their caregivers are referred to Connie for a thorough nutritional assessment to see what kinds of nutrients are needed in their diet for healthy living. Connie advises her patients about specific foods to include or to leave out of their diet. She discusses food-related issues such as how to manage side effects and healthy eating during treatment. She educates patients about ways to make changes to their diet in order to address any concerns that have been identified. A variety of nutritional issues are discussed with patients, including steroid induced diabetes, weight gain, dry mouth, loss of appetite, tiredness and the use of nutritional supplements.
