Departmental Profiles

Rehabilitation Services

In 1997, the disciplines of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech-Language Pathology were integrated into the single department of Rehabilitation Services. Therapy staff are located at all three sites of the University Health Network - Toronto General Hospital (TGH), Toronto Western Hospital (TWH) and Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH). Rehabilitation Services maintains an overall departmental structure, with two site-based managers for Allied Health - one at TWH and one for TGH and PMH. There are also practice leaders in all three disciplines lead service based teams of therapists within their respective professions.

Departmental Vision

The department's vision is "to be internationally recognized as a leader in discipline-specific and inter-disciplinary clinical, academic, research and quality activities".

Departmental Mission

  1. To be international leaders in delivering excellent, evidence-based care that is client-focused, cost effective and efficient;
