Volunteering at UHN

How Can I Become a Volunteer?
All prospective volunteers at UHN must complete the following steps to become a registered UHN Volunteer in this order:
| 1. | Attend a mandatory information session (click here for times/dates). The Information Session is a prerequisite to the online application. Those applicants who apply before attending an information session will be rejected. |
|
| 2. | Complete two (2) character reference forms. | |
| 3. | Obtain health documentation/records showing proof of immunity to measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox). You cannot volunteer if this health information is not provided. | |
| 4. | Complete an online application form. Include a resume and cover letter. Use one name consistently throughout the application process. | |
| 5. | Once your application is reviewed, you will be offered a conditional offer of acceptance pending your health screening. Make an appointment with Occupational Health and Safety at the hospital you will be volunteering in. They will administer a TB-skin test free of charge. | |
| 6. | Once you are cleared by Occupational Health and Safety, you will be invited to attend a volunteer Orientation Session. | |
| 7. | Attend a Placement Meeting organized by your Program Coordinator to discuss available volunteer opportunities. | |
