Ben Fine is a third year medical student at the University of Toronto and the first Fellow at the Centre for Innovation in Complex Care. He believes that the Canadian health care system is full of opportunity for improvement, and his current interests lie in applying engineering principles (such as Lean Thinking) to health care. Ben previously worked in strategic planning at Cancer Care Ontario (2007) and earned a MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2006). Ben is the founder and a current ambassador of STAND Canada – an advocacy organization making it easy for Canadians to act against genocide in Darfur – and is a 2007/8 fellow of Action Canada public policy leadership program.
