Image: Epidural catheter Chronic pain is any type of pain that lasts for more than six months. In some situations, intrathecal delivery of medication can be an effective therapy. Intrathecal infusion means that a catheter goes directly into the spinal area and infuses an opioid such as morphine or other drugs to manage pain.

Our Services

This is a specialized clinic that offers services for patients with difficult to manage chronic pain. You will need to be referred by your family doctor. The waiting time is about six to nine months. You will have an assessment by a pain specialist and, for intrathecal pump, a psychologist as well to determine if your type of pain will respond to this type of therapy.
