The Medical/Surgical Day Unit at Toronto Western Hospital provides a variety of medical and surgical services.

Our medical services:

• blood transfusion
• liver biopsy
• paracentesis (drainage of fluid on the abdomen)
• thoracentesis (drainage of fluid on the lungs)
• lumbar puncture
• MRI under general anesthesia

Our surgical services:

• Orthopedics (knee, shoulder, and ankle procedures)
• Ophthamology (cataract, glaucoma, and corneal surgery)
• General Surgery (gall bladder, hernia, and abscess drainage)
• Gynecology (D & C and sterilization)
