Osteoporosis Clinic
Osteoporosis is a skeletal disease characterized by low bone mass and a structural deterioration of bone tissue. This "thinning" of the bones leads to an increase in bone fragility, making patients more likely to suffer from fractures and broken bones. Because a loss of bone mass can occur over the course of many years without any signs or symptoms, it is important to detect and treat osteoporosis early.
University Health Network's Osteoporosis Program (a joint program of University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital) is staffed by a qualified multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, kinesiologists, dieticians and technologists.
Our services:
- excellent care for osteoporosis patients, include diet and exercise programs
- up-to-date information on the prevention and treatment of the disease
