Balance

Overview Clinics Research Staff Patient Information A - Z Glossary Map & Directions Health Professionals

A balance disorder occurs when there is a disturbance in the sensory systems that cause an individual to feel unsteady, dizzy, have a sensation of movement or to be unable to maintain orientation. The cause of balance disorders can be complex and require specialized assessment and treatment. UHN’s Balance Program consists of a multidisciplinary team of neuro-otologists, neuro-ophthalmologists, researchers and fellows working together with patients to identify balance problems.
