Spine Program - A-Z Glossary

This is not an exhaustive list, but includes some of the terminology commonly used in the assessment and treatment of neuro-oncology disorders:

Acute Spine

Acute Spine is a signal of tissue being damaged and it usually disappears when the injury
heals.

Chronic Spine

Chronic Spine is any Spine that lasts for more than six months or beyond the expected healing time.

Migraine

A disorder characterized by recurrent moderate to severe headaches that may be accompanied by dizziness, nausea, vomiting or extreme sensitivity to light and sound.

Neurologist

A physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and diseases of the brain, spine and other parts of the nervous system.

Neuropathic Spine

Spine originating from the malfunctioning of the nervous system.
