In light of recent discussion regarding an experimental Multiple Sclerosis (MS) treatment involving balloon dilation of narrowed veins in the neck and chest, Dr. Barry Rubin, Medical Director of the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre and Head of UHN’s Division of Vascular Surgery, gave a public lecture on the controversial topic. 

Peter Munk Cardiac Centre Symposium - Patient Family SessionOver 400 people attended his talk, “Treatment of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis by Dilation of Narrowed Veins in the Neck and Chest – Scientific, Moral and Ethical Considerations,” on January 28 at Toronto’s Metropolitan Hotel and his presentation was well-received by the crowd, comprising of MS patients, family, friends and healthcare practitioners alike.
