UHN Surgery Patient Education Binder
The time leading up to surgery can be an anxious time for you, full of questions and concerns.
Remembering pre-surgical and recovery information can be overwhelming, which is why UHN has launched a user-friendly Surgery Patient Education Binder — a free tool for you and your family members to record information about your surgical process and learn about each stage of your care.
During your surgery experience, your binder may be customized with information to suit your individual health information needs, including treatment-specific brochures, booklets, information sheets and other materials.

- download a copy of the binder
- search through other information brochures
- view a series of surgery-related videos that will help you care for yourself
Currently, the Surgery Patient Education Binder is only available in English; however, the website has booklets and information brochures available in many other languages that may be just right for you.
For information about how to get a “hard copy” of the binder, patients should speak to a member of their healthcare team.
