PrintThe Ontario Hospital Association has launched a website, myhospitalcare.ca, that compiles content from publicly-available resources and explains, in plain language, 39 different indicators, each rating a different aspect of patient care. The purpose is to make information about hospitals in Ontario accessible and useful to patients and their families to help them participate in the management of their own health care.
For our organization, this means using websites like myhospitalcare.ca to improve our performance as health-care providers and achieve our goal of providing patient centred care.
University Health Network was the first hospital in Ontario to publish a number of indictators including our rates of hospital-acquired infections. We will continue to publish such reports and information, in addition to linking to the OHA website.
