Features of the Series
The Series provides the viewer with 3D interactive graphics and voice narrated animations which allow for better understanding of the anatomy and functions of the cancer affected tissues and organs. Other very useful features include: experiences of cancer survivors relayed through video interviews, frequently asked questions, glossary of terms, user notes, references to published and online resources, to name just a few.

3D narrated images allow patients to better understand anatomy and spread of cancer to tissues and organs. These 3D images also explain the effect of the specific cancer types on the rest of the body.

Interactive Graphics & Animations
Key concepts are clarified with the help of animations and engaging 3D graphics. These are provided to allow the viewer to understand ideas that might otherwise be difficult to grasp. With the help of the mouse, these interactive graphics can be viewed from different sides and angles by shifting the viewpoint.

Cancer patients and survivors share their personal experiences and provide advice. Patient videos allow the viewer to hear different points of view as well as answers to some frequently asked questions.

Frequently Asked Questions
The most common questions are often the most important ones, and can also be the cause of worry and embarrassment. This section allows the users to find the answers to questions they seek or to questions that they never thought to ask.

Resources and Internet Links
Resources include an audible glossary, footnotes, guides and links to community support groups, clinical trial information and a list of recommended readings. Internet links to reputable Internet resources are also listed and save search time for the viewer.

Image: User NotesUser Notes and Bookmarks
User notes and bookmarks allow for the personalization and customization of every page. Users may bookmark screens they find particularly useful. Questions or comments can be inserted into the program with user notes. User notes can be saved for future reference or printed so that one may take them to doctor appointments.

Internet Updates
The OIES can be updated through the Internet thus ensuring that the program content remains accurate and up to date in light of current research. Updates can include either new information or new features to the program. We are committed to further developing our innovative approach to interactive education. As we find new and more effective ways of educating patients, caregivers and health care professionals, these will be made available to program users.
