Risk Management
What is it?
Risk is defined as "the potential for an event, action or inaction to adversely affect an organization's ability to achieve one or more of its business objectives". Examples of risks include:
1) medication errors
2) diagnostic errors
3) breaches of confidentiality
4) theft of intellectual property
In UHN, the Risk Management program aims to enhance patient safety while supporting staff. This benefits our patients, our staff and other health-care providers.
