Social Work at UHN
As members of the healthcare team, social workers play a key role in the continuum of care for inpatients and outpatients. Our services reach individuals, families and groups across program groupings and multiple hospital sites.
With specialized knowledge, we respond to emotional, social, and ethno-cultural needs, and help patients and families cope with illness and hospitalization. We are also patient and family advocates, and provide important linkages to appropriate community resources. Supporting patients and families in maximizing their strengths and functioning is essential to our practice. Our goal is always to provide excellence and leadership in patient care, education and research.
