There is a computer lab at each division. The computers are used exclusively for information access. The following software is being offered:
Medline - database covering about 3,600 medical
journals published world wide. Includes Index Medicus,
International Nursing Index and International Dental Index.
Cinahl - equivalent to the Cumulative Index of
Nursing and Allied Health Literature. Indexes around 600 nursing
and allied health journals.
HealthSTAR - database focusing on administrative
aspect of health care, technology and research.
These databases (designed by OVID Technologies) are mounted on the local hospital network and can be accessed from any networked computer within the hospital.
Book catalogue - the library is using fully
automated ILS SydneyPlus software. The catalogue is a part of the
system and includes information on book collections from both
hospital divisions, the Ontario Hospital Association and the
former Academy of Medicine. The library catalogue can also be
accessed from any computer on the network.
Ulticare - the computer lab provides access to the
hospital patient care records system.
Internet access - selected workstations offer access
to the Internet.
