Patient Education at University Health Network

• prepares patients and families for surgical, medical and diagnostic procedures
• helps patients and their families to manage their diseases and conditions
• supports patients in making informed decisions about their health and health care

Along with our existing programs, several innovative computer-based patient education programs are available for patients across UHN. These programs feature a number of outstanding Web sites and multimedia programs, including the Oncology Interactive Education Series, a comprehensive, 23-title cancer education program.

The Patient Education Network (PEN) is currently developing a number of programs and services designed to help you find the information you are looking for, including health information, online brochures and a physician directory. PEN will begin launching these services with its new and comprehensive Web site in summer 2003.
