An Evaluation of Function in Comparison to Features of Disease Activity and Damage in Patients with Psoriatic Arthritis
An evaluation of function in comparison to features of disease activity and damage in patients with Psoriatic Arthritis: In our Clinic we assess the patients in a systematic way with regards to their arthritis and psoriasis, and we measure the extent of damage by recording the deformities and the radiological damage. We feel it is important to relate these assessments to the patients function. There are now specific questionnaires designed to assess upper extremity function, and there are functional assessments performed by the physiotherapist and occupational therapist. In addition to relating our clinical observations to the outcomes most relevant to the patients, we hope that we shall then be able to develop more appropriate therapeutic modalities to improve function.
