Providing care to more than 10,000 patients a year, the Day Surgery Unit meets the needs of patients and their families before, during, and after their day surgery procedures. With an interdisciplinary team and a multi-phased approach, we do our best to tailor our care services to each patient's unique physical, social, and cultural needs.

What we do:

• Provide patient care and support to neurosurgery, general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastics, and gynecology patients
• Conduct medical day procedures, such as
  • liver biopsies
  • paracentesis IV infusions
  • lumbar punctures
• Provide education and discharge information to patients, to help them prepare for and recover after their treatment or procedure
