Information Desk - General Division
Eaton Building, Main Lobby
Meet, greet and direct the public, assist visitors
to their destinations. Receive and forward flowers,
mail, etc. This is a busy, dynamic area, with a
great deal of interaction with the public. If you
like people, and are an active person, and
especially if you have a second language, this might
be the place for you.
Shifts are:
Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:OO noon
12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Mammography - General Division,
Norman Urquhart Building
Caring, empathetic female volunteers needed
to assist a mostly female patient group to prepare
for mammograms. Preferably you have had a mammogram
yourself, and understand the procedure. You are a
mature, calm person, who can cope in a busy
clinical area. A second language - Cantonese,
Mandarin, Italian, Vietnamese, Portuguese
- would be helpful.
Gift Shop - Western Division
Fell Pavilion Lobby
A great opportunity to learn about retailing.
This is a busy gift shop, selling a wide variety
of items from candy to purses and nightwear.
Learn how to handle a cash register, order goods,
and deal with the public. The gift shop is open
every day, Monday to Sunday, with morning,
afternoon and evening shifts. Training will be
provided and again, a second language would be
helpful, but is not mandatory.
Nursing Units
- both divisions
Volunteers assist the Unit Clerks at the nursing
stations, visit with patients, assist families,
run errands, and do a wide variety of tasks.
Would suit High School Students who can only
volunteer on evenings and weekends, as this is
the time of highest need.
